Dignity at Your Door: The Future Mobile Difference
We are going beyond a standard salon by building a service that brings fully accessible, sensory-adapted care directly to you - in our custom van or in your home. This is our mission: to make expert, dignified care effortlessly accessible. We plan to provide haircuts, washing, and beard trimming in an environment where everyone can truly relax.
Driven by the Impact on Wellbeing
We are driven by a passion for dignity and its direct link to overall wellbeing. We understand that a simple haircut can be the first step toward facing the world, and that the lack of one can impact health appointments and social connection. Our mission is to remove this barrier.
Focused on clients
Your choice, control, and comfort will direct everything we do. You will choose the location: in our van or your home. You will guide the process through video previews and clear communication. Our focus will be on your comfort with adaptable environments and a patient, personalised approach.
Your Voice Will Launch This Service
We are committed to quality in every detail. To move forward and make this planned service a reality, we need your help. The most important step is for you to complete our survey. Your input will directly shape our final design and is essential to securing funding. Please share your experience today to help us begin.
NDIS & Haircare — What you need to know
Territory Trims is a mobile haircare service currently being developed in the Northern Territory. This information is provided to help NDIS participants, families, carers, and support professionals understand how haircare services may interact with NDIS funding. Haircuts and styling are paid for separately. Some support time related to personal care may be eligible under the NDIS, depending on individual plans and circumstances. Always check with your NDIS planner, support coordinator, or plan manager for advice.
What is not covered
• Haircuts, hair styling, colouring, blow-drying, and other cosmetic hair services are generally not funded by the NDIS.
• These services are considered day-to-day living expenses, which the NDIS expects participants to pay for in the same way as the general community.
• This applies whether the service is delivered in a salon, at home, or via a mobile service.
• For this reason, the cost of the haircut itself is always paid for separately and cannot be claimed through NDIS funding.
What may be claimable
• If a person’s disability impacts their ability to manage personal grooming tasks independently, the NDIS may fund support time under personal care supports.
• Personal care supports are funded supports that assist with daily living tasks where a disability affects independence.
• Examples of support time that may be eligible include assistance with preparation, washing or drying hair, positioning, communication support, or safety-related assistance during a haircare visit.
• Eligibility depends on the individual’s NDIS goals, plan funding, and personal circumstances.
How Territory Trims fits in
• Territory Trims is being developed as a professional haircare service only.
• The haircut service itself will be paid for directly by the client.
• Any disability-related support required during a visit is usually provided by the participant’s existing support worker or support provider, not by Territory Trims.
• Territory Trims does not approve NDIS funding, submit claims, or guarantee eligibility. Funding decisions are made by the NDIA and may differ depending on whether a plan is self-managed, plan-managed, or NDIA-managed.
What to do next
• Confirm with your NDIS planner, support coordinator, or plan manager what support time may be claimable for you.
• Understand that claiming processes may differ depending on how your NDIS plan is managed.
• Territory Trims will be available to anyone, regardless of NDIS participation.
• As the service is still in development, we welcome feedback from individuals, families, carers, and professionals to help shape how it operates.
